This prestigious hospitality project involved transforming a historic Georgian building in the heart of Bath into a 32-room luxury boutique hotel. The design required a delicate balance between preserving architectural heritage and delivering a distinctly contemporary luxury experience.
Our team developed a comprehensive vision spanning architecture, interiors, custom furniture, lighting, and art curation. The result is an intimate, sophisticated retreat that celebrates British craftsmanship and artistry while providing all the conveniences expected by discerning international travelers.
Design Approach
Where Parisian heritage meets modern luxury
Our concept centered on creating a narrative that celebrates Bath's cultural heritage while providing a distinctly contemporary experience. We developed the theme "Reflections of Somerset," drawing inspiration from the city's Georgian architecture, particularly its relationship with the natural limestone and historical elegance.
Each space within the hotel was approached as an opportunity to create a memorable sensory experience. Original architectural features were meticulously restored while new elements were introduced with exceptional craftsmanship. The color palette draws from Bath's historic Royal Crescent and the surrounding countryside at different times of year—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—creating a subtle rhythm as guests move through the property.

The Lobby & Salon
The arrival experience unfolds in the Georgian building's original grand foyer, where we preserved the monumental limestone staircase and restored ornate ceiling moldings. Contemporary furnishings in heritage-inspired tones complement the historic elements, while a custom light installation of hand-blown glass pendants creates a dramatic focal point.
Guest Suites
Each of the 32 guest rooms has a unique configuration and design treatment, with four distinctive color schemes inspired by Somerset's natural landscape. All rooms feature bespoke furniture, custom-woven textiles, and bathrooms clad in book-matched Cotswold stone. Technology is seamlessly integrated through hidden panels and smart room controls.
Restaurant & Bar
The hotel's signature restaurant occupies what was once the building's drawing room. Original architectural details have been retained and complemented with local artwork, while a new glass extension floods the space with natural light. The adjacent bar features a dramatic backlit Bath stone counter and a collection of traditional British spirits and local craft drinks displayed in custom vitrines.
